What is demurrage?
Demurrage is the per-day fee for holding a can beyond the included rental window. The term is borrowed from shipping, where it means the same thing about containers that have not been released.
What it costs
Set by each operator, as a daily rate once the included rental period ends. We have not found a reliable public average for it, so we do not quote one.
When it comes up
After the included rental period ends, which each operator sets in its own terms. Billing it automatically rather than remembering to is one of the clearest arguments for having the rental terms inside the software.
