What is a scale ticket?
A scale ticket records the weight of a load at the transfer station or landfill. It is the evidence behind a tipping fee and the only defensible basis for billing a customer for overage.
What it costs
No direct cost, but the revenue it protects is real: at an overage rate of $75 a ton, one unbilled ton on a load is $75 that a lost paper ticket costs you. Photographing the ticket into the job record is the simplest way to make sure it gets billed.
When it comes up
Every time a truck tips. Capturing it against the job rather than leaving it in the door pocket is the difference between overage being a policy and overage being revenue.
